About this Project
Completed in May 1973 by John Laing & Son Ltd the sanctuary is hexagonal to allow the 1,000 capacity congregation a close and clear view of the altar.
Zanetti & Company Ltd. were commissioned to supply and install the custom cut terrazzo floor tiles, which are hexagonal in shape. The setting-out challenge which dictated: “no tile was to be cut at any point” was addressed and the installation was successfully completed on time and to budget. The rustic look was achieved by the use of Derbyshire Spar English Aggregate and white cement in the tile mix.
